Namaste, and welcome to Namaste Gurkha

Namaste Gurkha is a Nepalese and Indian kitchen in Birchwood Shopping Centre, Lincoln. Our team has cooked and served food in successful kitchens across the UK, and our chefs have travelled across rural and urban Nepal and India in search of traditional, home-cooked meals. Those recipes are what we cook every evening, fresh to order, for delivery and collection.

The food of Nepal

Nepalese cooking shares a lot with the curries of India, but it has its own character: plenty of garlic, ginger and fresh herbs, smoky meats from the fire and sauces that are often lighter and sharper. A few dishes to look for on our menu:

• Momo: steamed dumplings with a spiced vegetable and/or chicken filling, served with tomato and sesame chutney. Nepal’s favourite street food.
• Sekuwa: country-style Nepalese barbecue. Our lamb sekuwa is marinated with homemade herbs and spices, then cooked in the tandoor.
• Choila: grilled lamb marinated with red onion, garlic, ginger, lemon juice and mustard oil.
• Khasi ko masu: goat curry, cooked on the bone the way it’s made at home in Nepal.
• Lasuni kukhura: chicken with garlic, green chillies and spring onions in the chef’s special Nepalese sauce.
• Macha malekhu: fish in a tomato and onion sauce with Nepalese spices.
• Chow mein: Nepalese-style egg noodles, a fusion of Tibet and Nepal.

Korma, tikka masala, jalfrezi, madras, rogan josh, bhuna, dhansak and the rest are all here, along with biryani, tandoori dishes from the clay oven, vegetable sides, rice and freshly baked naan. If you can’t decide, our set meals for one, two or four put a complete dinner together for you.
